Meetings

Monthly Meetings

Regular CATSAR member meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month from March through November, from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM. Meetings are typically held at the Quemado Community Center, located at 28 Lopez Street in Quemado, New Mexico.

Occasionally, a field training exercise may be scheduled in place of a regular meeting. These training events may be held on a different day and at a different location to provide hands-on opportunities for members to develop and maintain search and rescue skills.

Officer elections are conducted during the April meeting in alternating years. Members receive notice of upcoming meetings, training events, and other organizational activities through the monthly email newsletter.

November Year-End Meeting & Training

Each November, our team gathers for a year-end meeting and training event that combines skill development, team building, and organizational planning. The event features a comprehensive mock search and rescue mission, a potluck meal, and a business meeting.

To enhance training opportunities and strengthen regional partnerships, Search and Rescue (SAR) teams from neighboring counties may be invited to participate. Working alongside our counterparts helps build rapport, improve interagency coordination, and expand our collective response capabilities.
